Silent Hill: Homecoming

Like this post? Why not: Share/Save This Article

Silent Hill V, now known as Silent Hill Homecoming, was set to release on September 30, 2008 as far as I can tell. Because I don’t have a console I’m not paying much attention to those versions of the game, but I am interested in the PC version. The downloadable one to be specific.

From what I’ve read, the creators have signed some kind of exclusivity deal to distribute the PC downloadable version on Valve’s Steam.

I’ve never used Steam before; I’ve only ever bought on Direct2Drive. The thought of having to download some client to use their (Steam) service kind of annoyed me in the past, so I never gave them a shot. Not sure if that’s still applicable today, but I guess I’ll find out — since I have no choice.

Fuckers.

Still, I’m looking forward to this next installment of Silent Hill no matter what. It feels like forever since I’ve played a Silent Hill title. The last one I played was The Room. It’s long overdue, and I can’t think of a more perfect month to play the game in.

Happy Hunting.

Finally found some details on the delay.

Silent Hill Homecoming for PC will not become available until later this month. Please stay tuned for more information.

There’s an entire forum dedicated to Silent Hill: Homecoming over there, with a ton of threads. I haven’t dug through many others yet to see if there’s further info — but it seems like Steam is unwilling or unable to give any further details on this as far as I can tell.

Ah well. More waiting. I just hope it comes out in time to get some fun in before the Halloween spirit has left us.

Hurry up Steam. Hurry up Konami. Not sure which one of you may be responsible for the download pc version’s delay.. but release it already dammit. Preferably before Halloween is over, yes?

I really think Konami should change the name of this game to:

    Silent Hill 5: Nevercoming

    lol

You know, SH5 is kinda a rip off. Okay, it has a great story, this and that blah blah, but what really rips the guts were its graphics. There’s a health bar when he encounters critters, a cross hair in aiming, just when did this become RE4?

  • Jack says:

After all the fuss I only played about 20 minutes of it, lol. I never left the hospital. Eh. I played so little of it I didn’t get to do any real fighting so I don’t even remember a health bar. That’s stupid. Maybe I’ll try it again someday, but for now it gathers dust in the comp.
