Paris Hilton Is Goofy

There are a ton of Celebrity bashing blogs already, so I’m gonna avoid going down that route and have used a mildly playful title to help steer me away from that.

But dammit, it’s just so easy to get critical, isn’t it, with her?

During her recent trip to South Africa she said, “I love Africa in general — South Africa and West Africa, they are both great countries.”

Yes… I hear the country of East Africa is lovely this time of year too. Ah well, at least Paris is pleasant to look at, even when she’s saying goofy shit like this.

In her defense though… if you watch any late night talk shows you’ve undoubtedly seen those segments when they hit the streets to ask people relatively simple questions and then cut out all the people with right answers and just showcase a long clip full of stupid. So it’s not just her.

And so, also of note during this trip, she attempted to live up to her promise to do some charity work. Well, she spent a few hours hanging out with some children, signing autographs. I guess that counts, right?

If she really wanted to do some charity work and tie it in with signing autographed pictures of herself, she should scrap those PG press kit bikini glossies, and start dropping signed 8×10 nudes out of planes all over the continent. At least then some lucky Africans could sell ‘em to a tabloid for a tidy profit, and get something they really wanted, like… anything else.

I still heart you Paris, you goofy lady, you.
