Ahoy, LucasArts! Monkey Island Time, Now?

Dear LucasArts, I have a lot of great memories from when I was an up and coming gamer kid, and I have you to thank for many of them. The Secret of Monkey Island, Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Maniac Mansion, Loom and The Dig, specifically.

Those we’re all great titles, and while Monkey Island 3 and 4 didn’t do it for me (I really digged the old style graphics, and didn’t play the final two Monkey Island’s because of the change), I still look forward to another return to Monkey Island eventually.

I miss Guybrush and LeChuck, Elaine Marley, and all the other fun characters you used to create for our adventures. There was something really charming about them, and your writers often showed off a lot of humor, wit, and style during the story.

It’s been so many years since I’ve played any of these titles, much to do with how difficult they are to come by. So, can it be time for Monkey Island 5 now please?

I know you probably wouldn’t humor me and go back to those retro graphics I adored. And I know I shunned you when Monkey Island 3 & 4 strayed from what I considered the most awesome graphics I had ever seen in 1 & 2 (hey, I liked pixel hunting!). But I promise to give number 5 a shot, no matter what.
