Did Indiana Jones Eat Poo?
April 8, 2008
After writing this article, I remembered a scene in Temple of Doom where Indy, Short Round, and Willie ended up in that village in India after jumping out of their doomed aircraft.
Welcomed by the villagers, they camp down inside a hut and the hosts bring the tired adventurers a meal. A meal which I tend to think was a plate full of shit. [Read more]
Soldier KIA, Wife Gets Sperm
April 7, 2008
This is both sad and shocking at the same time.
I ran across this article on Yahoo! News which said an Army Sergent killed in Baghdad on March 31st had his remains sampled for sperm several days after his death at the request of his wife.
The widow, Kynesha, went in front of a federal judge in Georgia to request a restraining order which would prevent the military from embalming her husband’s body. It was granted. [Read more]
No Time For Love Dr. Jones
April 7, 2008
Oh hell yes… talk about a movie I’ve been looking forward to for many years! And it looks like there won’t be much more waiting before it’s finally here.
I’d be ashamed to tell you how many times I’ve watched all the Indiana Jones movies. The count must be pretty obscene by now. Hell, all the DVD’s are still sitting right on top of my computer tower, Temple of Doom out of its case and ready for another run anytime soon. [Read more]
Elephants Draw Better Than Me
April 5, 2008
I spent 5 years in an art college. During the ordeal I had to endure terrible classes like Color & Design and Illustration. Terrible because I wanted to be a writer (copywriter, in advertising), and had not a single ounce of illustrative skill in me. [Read more]
Johnny 5 Is Still Alive
April 5, 2008
Is Hollywood out of ideas? Has everything been done already? It would appear so, seeing as even the film Short Circuit has been tagged for a future remake.
There are a number of old movies I’d love to see remade someday. This is not really one of them. [Read more]
Three Games I’d Like To See Become Movies
April 4, 2008
A comment got me thinking about the possibility of more games crossing over into the movie realm, to help counter game critic’s arguments against the value of today’s favorite past time. It’s sometimes common for a movie to launch a game after its success in theaters, but the reverse hasn’t happened as often as I’d like.
Can you think of a game you’d like to see turned into a Hollywood blockbuster? [Read more]
Gaming Noob, Whittell, Angriest Guy Ever!
April 3, 2008
He loves mountains, the air, tents, and rain on his face. And that’s why his children won’t see a Nintendo or Playstation in their house… Ever.
when it comes to video games. He hates them with a passion, online or offline, because they “suck real people into fake worlds and hold on to them for decades.” [Read more]
A Game To End All Games
April 2, 2008
Simulation games have always appealed to me, but I dream of seeing them go so much further in the ultimate gaming mash up someday.
Imagine a platform similar to Second Life, or The Sims. The foundation of it is controlling your avatar/character, inhabiting your own little world, or if connected online, a chain of worlds where you could interact with many other players. [Read more]
Ahoy, LucasArts! Monkey Island Time, Now?
April 1, 2008
Dear LucasArts, I have a lot of great memories from when I was an up and coming gamer kid, and I have you to thank for many of them. The Secret of Monkey Island, Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Maniac Mansion, Loom and The Dig, specifically.
